ROLL OUT CEREMONY OF TANK HAIDER AT HEAVY INDUSTRIES TAXILA (HIT)

Gen Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) today as chief guest at the rollout ceremony of Tank Haider (Pilot Project).  Ceremony was attended by Ambassador of Peoples Republic of China, key officials of Chinese state company NORINCO, high officials of Government of Pakistan and Pakistan Army; and various military and civil officials of HIT. During the ceremony, HIT unveils its new Tank Haider, which has been manufactured through collaboration with NORINCO China and various industries of Pakistan. Tank Haider incorporates modern state of the art technologies and astounding capabilities of tank warfare, making it the most lethal of the Tanks which will be inducted in Pakistan Army soon.   Lt Gen Shakir Ullah Khattak HI (M), Chairman Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT), highlighted indigenous development achievements of HIT in manufacture of Tank Haider. The COAS was briefed about technical capabilities of the Tank and indigenization progress. The COAS also visited manufacturing facilities where he took keen interest in ongoing production of Tank Haider and lauded the efforts of HIT in attainment of “Strength through Self-reliance”.   The COAS expressed his full confidence in capabilities of HIT and appreciated the commitment of Chairman, officers and workforce in successful achievement of another milestone in history of tank production by HIT.
